Watch: Nature reserve's first osprey chick in nest

A camera that monitors a breeding pair of osprey at a nature reserve has captured the first chick of the year in its nest.

The chick, which hatched on 26 May, was one of three eggs laid at Norfolk Wildlife Trust's (NWT) Ranworth Broad site near Wroxham, where the pair have returned for their second year.

NWT reserves manager Adam Houlgate said: "This represents a second year of successful breeding from our osprey pair, which is really fantastic."

Last year, the site made history as osprey chicks were born in the East of England for the first time in 250 years.

"There are usually 4-5 days between eggs hatching so, unfortunately, it's getting quite late for the remaining two eggs," Houlgate added.
