Watch: Skier tackles Peruvian mountain ridge

A British climber has said she was following her heart when she climbed up and skied down a mountain in Peru.

Fay Manners, from Blunham village near Bedford, believes she is the first to have skied down the south-west ridge of Mount Ranrapalca, which is known for its treacherous and steep 6,162m peak.

The 39-year-old told BBC Look East: "When it comes to skiing, it's really just following [your] heart, rather than following a guidebook."

For her next challenge, she intends to tackle the north face of the Eiger in Switzerland.
