Watch: Officer hitches a ride in van to chase suspect
A suspect was arrested after a police officer asked to borrow a member of the public's van during a pursuit.
Bedfordshire Police said officers were called to track down a high-risk male wanted for domestic offences in Biggleswade on 7 July.
A social media post by the force explained: "When officers needed a little extra horsepower, a helpful member of the public stepped in with an unexpected lift to help officers close in on the suspect."
The pursuit was captured by bodycam footage, which also showed the man being arrested nearby a short time later.
Police said a significant quantity of Class A drugs was also recovered from his vehicle and he was further arrested for failing to provide a saliva sample.
