A 51-year-old man died after two vans crashed on a rural A-road in Cambridgeshire, police have said.

A white Mercedes Sprinter van heading eastbound on the A505 collided with a white Ford Transit travelling in the opposite direction, between Flints Cross and Royston, at about 16:10 BST on 9 September.

Police said the driver of the Ford, who was from Ipswich, died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 45-year-old man of no fixed abode, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries where he remained in a stable condition, police added.

Cambridgeshire Police appealed for anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to get in touch.
