WW2 Hurricane makes tribute flight to Poland

A World War Two Hawker Hurricane has flown from the UK to Poland in tribute to the country's wartime contribution.

The aircraft left Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire, on Friday as part of the Polish Heritage Flight, bound for Dęblin.

Pilot Nigel Wilson is carrying a special logbook signed by supporters of the project, which will be presented as a gesture of thanks to the Polish people.

The Hurricane has been painted with markings honouring two Polish pilots who flew from the UK during World War Two.

About £27,000 was raised through online donations from around the world to fund the mission.
