Plan for homes next to motorway set for approval
GooglePlans for 115 homes next to the M1 in Leicestershire are set to be given the green light.
Miller Homes wants to build the properties on two fields between the motorway and Springwell Lane in Whetstone.
Councillors on Blaby District Council's planning committee are set to discuss the firm's planning application for the 22.5-acre (9.12-hectare) site on Thursday.
There have been 22 objections to the proposal including the loss of the arable fields and the potential for traffic congestion.
However, planning officers have recommended the committee approves the scheme.
Under the plans, 88 of the new homes would be sold and 29 would be affordable, helping to meet a shortfall in government-set housing targets in the district.
