Andrew Greengrass denied murder during a trial at Lincoln Crown Court

A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a man accused of stabbing his neighbour to death in a row over noise.

Andrew Greengrass, 36, admitted unlawfully killing Nigel Booth, 67, in his flat on Foundry Road, Stamford, in October 2025, but denied the charge of murder claiming he had lost self control.

Following a murder trial at Lincoln Crown Court, the jury could not decide on a verdict after deliberating for two and half days.

They were discharged by Judge Simon Hirst, who gave the prosecution five days to decide if they will pursue a retrial.

Greengrass was remanded back into custody and will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court on 27 April.
