Arrest after boy slashed with scissors in shop
Nottinghamshire PoliceA 14-year-old boy was left with slash wounds following a fight at a shop in Nottingham.
Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to reports of disorder inside a supermarket in Sneinton Dale at about 16:30 BST on Wednesday.
The force said two people - a 25-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy - were involved in a fight, during which the man reportedly picked up a pair of scissors and slashed the teenager with them.
Police said a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and affray, while the 14-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray. The injuries sustained by the boy were not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.
Det Ch Insp Claire Gould said: "While thankfully nobody sustained serious injuries in this incident, it will have no doubt been very alarming to anyone who witnessed it.
"Our understanding is that a pair of scissors were used in the fight between two people, both of whom know each other.
"As such, we're confident that this was very much an isolated incident."
