Scooter rider, 18, seriously injured in crash

A motor scooter rider has been seriously injured in a crash in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Police said the crash at 22:05 BST on Tuesday involved a red Aprilia 125 scooter and a black Audi A1, at the junction of the A6 and Temple Road in Matlock Bath.

The scooter was travelling from Cromford towards Matlock, while the Audi - which was travelling in the opposite direction - was turning into Temple Road, the force added.

The rider, an 18-year-old man from Matlock, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Audi, a 21-year-old woman from Chesterfield, stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries, police said. No arrests have been made.

Officers said they were keen to speak to any drivers in the area at the time who may have captured either vehicle with their dashcam prior to the collision.
