Couple left 'badly shaken' after being tied up during burglary
PAA couple have been left "badly shaken" following a burglary at a house in Macosquin, County Londonderry.
Two masked men entered the property on the Fermoyle Road around 01:15 BST on Saturday.
A man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s were tied up by the men and ordered to hand over money.
The men left the property, taking two mobile phones, a watch and the keys for a blue Nissan Juke that was parked nearby.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the the men drove off in the car, which was last seen at the Moore Road area of Londonderry shortly after 02:00 BST.
Det Insp Lenaghan said: "Both the male and female, who although not injured, were left badly shaken following the incident.
"Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this incident, to contact detectives."
In a separate incident on Thursday morning, a wallet containing bank cards and cash, as well as a necklace, were taken at knifepoint during a house burglary in Ballymena, County Antrim.
Police said a man armed with two knives confronted a man in his 60s who was inside the property at Francis Street at about 07:50 BST.
The man, who had his face covered, dropped one of the knives, and made off towards the Larne Road area on an e-scooter following the incident.
The man in his 60s was not injured, police added.
