A man has died a week after he was found seriously injured at a property in Lincolnshire.

Dr Richard Thorpe, 72, was found at the premises on Kirkby Lane in Kirkby on Bain on Saturday 24 October and died in hospital on 31 October, said Lincolnshire Police.

Daniel Kent, 43, of Broad Lane, Sutterton, near Boston, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on 28 October charged with attempted murder and was remanded in custody until a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on 25 November.

Police said they were following "multiples lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances surrounding Dr Thorpe's death" in what they described as "a significant investigation".

Det Ch Insp Andy McWatt urged anyone who was in the area between 09:00 BST and 16:00 on 24 October who may have seen a light grey VW Arteon to get in touch.

"The same applies to anyone with CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage which may assist our investigation," he added.

"No matter how insignificant you may feel your information might be, if you've not yet spoken to us, please come forward."
