Crews tackle large fire near industrial estate

A large fire on land near an industrial estate sent smoke into the air over Nottingham on Monday evening.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 19:00 BST it was in attendance at a fire in the open off Carlton Road, Sneinton, to the rear of Thornfield Industrial Estate.

Eyewitnesses said it appeared to be grass that was alight.

The fire service told the BBC it had six appliances at the scene.
