Girl, 12, seriously injured in e-bike hit-and-run

A 12-year-old girl has been hit and seriously injured by an e-bike, police have said, with the rider then fleeing the scene.

It happened at about 14:40 BST in Long Lane in the Orford area of Warrington, said Cheshire Police.

The girl remains in a critical condition in hospital, said a force spokesperson.

Det Sgt Russ Sime said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch with us."

He added: "This occurred at a busy time of day when there would have been a lot of traffic and footfall in the area."

The officer also asked anyone with any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact the force.
