A cat has become a "local celebrity" after daily visits to a shop in Berkshire, store staff have said.

Ginger short-hair tabby Leo is regularly seen in the foyer napping or sunning himself on top of displays at Tesco in Warfield, Bracknell.

His fame has also spread to the local Bracknell Facebook group, with one customer remarking he "makes my day when I see him".

A Tesco spokesperson said although Leo was not allowed past the shop's foyer for health and safety reasons, he had become a favourite with shoppers and staff.

Another customer wrote: "Leo is known for his friendly and adorable manner. I enjoy seeing him at my weekly shop."

It was also explained how the foyer is a "good sunspot" and staff leave a box out for him to rest in.

A Tesco spokesperson said: "Leo the cat is something of a local celebrity, and many of our customers love seeing him as they come into our Bracknell North superstore.

"Leo is not allowed into the store itself but always seems very at home in the foyer, greeting our customers or enjoying a snooze.

"He does have a loving home and owner nearby and we would like to remind customers that they shouldn't feed him."

Staff said if Leo did find himself wandering into the store, he was gently guided back outside.
