The pool at Borrage Green in Ripon has reopened to the public

A public paddling pool in Ripon has reopened for the summer holidays after maintenance work.

The Borrage Green site, along with pools at Bebra Gardens in Knaresborough and Valley Gardens in Harrogate, had been due to open ahead of the late May bank holiday but this was delayed after inspections.

Malcolm Taylor of North Yorkshire Council thanked the public for their "patience while essential work has been carried out to the three paddling pools".

The Valley Gardens site reopened last month, and work at the pool in Knaresborough was "entering its final stages", he confirmed.

"We have seen families making the most of the Harrogate pool in the good weather and we are pleased that Ripon can open in time for the school holidays," he said.

"The pool in Knaresborough is due to open soon, and we will keep the public updated when we have a date confirmed."

Repairs to the Borrage Green pool included stripping and repainting its surface and checking the draining systems.
