'Devastating' fire at fish and chip shop
The Naked FishA fish and chip shop in Bridlington suffered extensive damage after a fire broke out on Saturday afternoon.
The Naked Fish restaurant, on Queen Street, said customers and staff were evacuated safely, and the people living in the flats above were also reported safe.
The family-run business, which overlooks the harbour, said it was "absolutely devastated" by the blaze.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at about 14:45 BST to a fire involving an extractor fan which was put out by crews using a thermal imaging camera.
In a post on social media, the business thanked fire and rescue staff, other emergency crews and members of the public for their support.
The business said two people re-entered the shop as the fire took hold and were checked over at hospital.
"We're incredibly thankful they are both okay," the post read.
"We are a family business, and fish and chips have been part of our family for generations. We have faced many challenges, but never a fire. Seeing our shop like this is absolutely devastating."
Humberside Fire and Rescue confirmed three adults had suffered from smoke inhalation with two taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
