Crash and diesel spill leads to lane closure on M1

One lane of the M1 has been closed for emergency repairs after a crash caused a diesel spill.

The road was shut southbound between junction 12 for Toddington and junction 11 for Luton at about 21:15 BST, said National Highways.

The closure has been partially opened, but one lane remains closed between junction 11A for Houghton Regis and junction 11.

National Highways warned drivers there were two miles of queues on the approach.
