A man has been taken to hospital and five people arrested after a serious assault.

Devon and Cornwall Police said emergency services were called to Curtis Street area in Plymouth, Devon, at about 10:20 BST on Sunday and found a man with serious injuries.

A cordon had been put in place while officers continued to work at the scene, the force said.

The five arrested remained in police custody, and anyone with information has been asked to contact officers, it added.
