Street lights shot with 'air rifles or catapults'
Cumberland CouncilStreet lights have been shot at with air rifles or catapults, a council has said.
A total of 26 lamps in Cockermouth, Cumbria, have been struck in recent weeks, with several put out of use.
Damage has been reported along The Greenway, between the River Cocker and Bellbrigg Lonning, as well as at Millers Footbridge.
Cumberland Council estimates the cost of repairing or replacing the lights to be about £8,000 and it has asked people to contact Cumbria Police if they have any information.
