Armed police operation as reports of gunshots linked
Leicester Media OnlineArmed police cordoned off a village street as part of an ongoing investigation into the discharge of firearms in Leicestershire.
Police set up the cordon in Sandown Road in Glenfield on Thursday after reports of gunshots in Braunstone on 2 June and in Newbold Verdon on Tuesday.
The force was unable to confirm anything further about officers in Glenfield for "operational reasons".
Police previously said the incidents in Braunstone and Newbold Verdon were believed to linked.
The first incident took place in Cort Crescent, Braunstone, just before 22:30 BST on 2 June when locals reported that a gunshot was heard.
Officers were then called to Brascote Lane, Newbold Verdon, shortly before 22:40 BST on Tuesday where they found a car and a house with damage "consistent with a firearm having been discharged".
The force had previously said a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with the first incident.
No further arrests have been made.
