Seven people have been arrested so far over the death on Whinsmoor Drive in Carlisle

A seventh person has been arrested in an inquiry into the suspected murder of a man who died on Tuesday.

Police found the victim with a "serious head injury" at a property in Whinsmoor Drive, Carlisle.

He was taken by air ambulance to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary where he died three days later.

Six people were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including murder, officers said, while on Thursday detectives held another person on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. All seven have been released on bail while investigations continue.

Cumbria Police continue to seek witnesses or those with information about the victim's death.
