Police in Fife are investigating a series of deliberate fires on Wednesday evening.

Fire crews in Methil were called to a blaze on Wellesley Road at 18:35, a colliery bing on Sea Road at 20:50, then a third incident on Rising Sun Road in Buckhaven at 21:00.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing to "establish whether the fires were linked".

Sgt Craig Fyall said: "While there are no reported injuries, this had an impact on the community and the outcome could have been much more devasting."
