A plot of land owned by Bradford Council is to be sold at auction later this month, as it tries to improve its finances.

The land off Sticker Lane will have a guide price of £45,000 and according to property auction firm BTG Eddisons "may be suitable for development, subject to any necessary consents".

The listing said the land was a "freehold parcel of grassland extending to approx 0.35 hectares (0.85 acres)" and it would be auctioned between 27 and 28 July.

It is the latest in a number of council-owned assets the authority is looking to sell in a bid to reduce the amount of money it needs to borrow to meet its day-to-day spending requirements.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS), the plot is located at the corner of Lower Lane and Parry Lane, next to residential properties and commercial premises.

The listing said Sticker Lane formed part of the A6177, which is the ring road around Bradford city centre, about 1.5 miles (2.4km) to its north west.
