Travellers are being advised to allow extra time due to an earlier police incident

Travellers to Manchester Airport's Terminal 2 are being advised to allow extra time following a police incident.

The upper and lower forecourts at T2 were closed earlier, with police on site, due to what was described as a "concern for welfare" incident.

Greater Manchester Police has confirmed the incident has now ended.

Manchester Airport says the road network around the airport remains busier than usual and passengers are being advised to allow plenty of time for their journeys.

During the incident, passengers were advised to use alternative drop-off and pick-up locations at other terminals.

A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: "We are grateful to passengers for their understanding and patience this afternoon."
