Humpback whale breaches near boat trippers

Footage has captured the moment a humpback whale breached off the coast of Devon.

Tristan Northway, known on social media as Mr Fish, said the "breathtaking" sight happened on Tuesday off the coast of Brixham. He said the whale appeared "out of nowhere", breaching "directly in front of the boat".

"It was genuinely one of the most breathtaking wildlife encounters I've ever experienced at sea," he said.

Coral Smith from Devon Wildlife Trust Marine Awareness Office said it appeared to be a juvenile humpback whale.
