Watch: Truck driver flees from police and loses shoe
Police dashcam footage shows a truck driver attempting to flee from police, crashing into a parked car and losing a shoe as he gets out and runs.
Cian McCluskey was pursued by officers on patrol in Peterborough after he was spotted speeding in a Ford Transit truck in Bretton Gate, in April.
The 31-year-old drove through a red light, went the wrong way around the roundabout, ignored keep left bollards and eventually crashed into the parked car on River Lane, near the Crescent Bridge and railway line in the city centre, Cambridgeshire Police said.
McCluskey, of East Cobgate in Moulton, Lincolnshire, was arrested later.
At Cambridge Crown Court, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years, and banned from driving for three years after admitting dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and driving without insurance.
