Police deliberately ram car thief suspect off bike

This is the moment police mounted the pavement and rammed into a motorbike rider suspected of being involved in a number of burglaries.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police were called to Lawnswood, in Leeds, following reports of "suspicious males" in the area and Michael Dickinson and rider Kyle Smith in possession of equipment used in keyless vehicle theft.

At Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, both admitted going equipped for theft of a motor vehicle.

Smith, 24, of Cardinal Crescent, Beeston, was given a 12-week jail sentence and recalled to prison over separate offences. He also admitted driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

Dickinson, 25, of Broadlea Street, Bramley, was given a 12-month community order.
