Man arrested in Holmewood after 'suspicious items' found
GoogleA cordon has been lifted and people have been allowed to return to their homes after "suspicious items" were found during a police raid.
Officers made the discovery at a property on Shakespeare Street in Holmewood, Derbyshire, at about 09:25 GMT on Monday.
Several houses were evacuated and the bomb squad was called in.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of making or preparing explosives with intent and remains in police custody.
Derbyshire Police said items found at the house were examined by the Explosive Ordnance Division from Chetwynd Barracks.
Residents were allowed to return to their homes just before 16:00 GMT.
The same force evacuated residents from more than 50 homes in Derby on Sunday after suspicious items were found.
Supt Jonathan Clark said: "Though concerning and in view of a similar incident yesterday in Derby, I would like to reassure the public that there is no information to suggest that this is a terrorism-related incident at this time.
"There is also nothing to indicate it is linked to yesterday's incident."
