BHS building demolition to go ahead
Millie Dearing/BBCPermission has been granted for the demolition of the former BHS building in Hull city centre.
The building in Jameson Street housed the department store until 2016.
A steel structure will be built to protect the Grade II listed Three Ships mural, Hull City Council said.
Two hundred homes and a retail space will be built on the site as part of the wider Albion Square Project.
Planning permission for the new development was granted in 2022, but a fresh application to demolish the store was needed because of changes to the scheme, including the construction of the steel frame.
No date for the demolition has been announced.
