Ferry returns for summer trips after accident
Tracey Cahill/BBCA ferry which was damaged in a berthing accident in March has returned to Jersey, operator DFDS said.
The Tarifa Jet resumed its St Malo services on Friday morning.
DFDS said the Caesarea Trader cargo ship had also returned to the island and restarted freight operations, following a fire which broke out in the engine room off the Isle of Wight in February.
The Levante Jet has returned for the four and a half hour crossing to Poole for the summer passenger service and its first sailing was also scheduled for Friday as the company announced timetable "improvements" for the season.
After the Tarifa was put out of action, DFDS used Côte d'Albâtre to operate a revised schedule between Portsmouth and Jersey to increase capacity over the Easter weekend.
DFDS said it has agreed "improved schedules" with St Malo Port Authorities this summer, so day-trippers from Jersey can enjoy up to six hours in France for day-trippers.
French visitors to the island would also be offered "more convenient timings", the company said.
It has more than doubled the number of day-trips this summer compared with 2025, with 90 days available between May and September.
