Police are investigating after items worth £25,000 were stolen from a house in West Lothian.

The incident happened at about 14:15 on Thursday 23 April at a house on Rendall Street in Broxburn.

The suspects were seen on the same day by a fisherman throwing items over a bridge into the River Almond on Lochend Road near Kirkliston.

Members of the public below the bridge, who also witnessed the event, then tried to recover the items from the river.

Police Scotland said the suspects were travelling in a silver Audi.

Det Con Lee Manderson said: "The stolen property was of sentimental value to the victims of this theft and our enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

"We are keen to hear from anyone with information who hasn't already spoken to police, in particular the man who was fishing at the River Almond."
