A man has pleaded not guilty to behaving in a disorderly manner following an incident in which staff and revellers were evacuated from a Guernsey nightclub.

Francesco Biancu, 33, was charged with behaving in disorderly manner after an incident at Les Folies d'Amour in St Peter Port that led to the club being evacuated on 9 May.

He was initially charged with with bomb hoaxes, an offence under Section 74 of the Terrorism and Crime (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2002, but this was amended.

Biancu appeared before magistrates at Guernsey Royal Court on Monday, was given conditional bail and ordered not to leave Guernsey or Herm. He is due to next appear in court for a pretrial hearing on 26 August.
