Volunteers sought to oversee States projects
BBCAfter serious concerns over how large States of Guernsey projects are run, a renewed call for islanders to volunteer their time to help oversee how such projects are run has gone out.
Policy and Resources (P&R) published the role in March but said following the publication of the MyGov investigation report and the Major Projects Portfolio - it thought there could be "additional interest".
P&R said it welcomed applications from any sector and the role would contribute to some of the island's "most significant and complex programmes".
The committee said whoever applied for the voluntary portfolio assurance adviser role would work up to two days per month for one year.
P&R said applicants needed senior-level experience, to have led organisational change, experience in large project management or major improvement initiatives.
The successful applicant would work alongside the chief executive to assess "how well the portfolio is governed".
Those interested can provide a CV and short statement to P&R and have until 12 June.
Boley Smillie, chief executive and head of the public service, said the role was important with "an opportunity to contribute valuably to the community".
He said: "We were pleased with the initial level of interest in this role, but following recent decisions and announcements there may be renewed interest in this role.
"We'd again welcome expressions of interest in this role, particularly from those with senior level experience to support the oversight of this portfolio."
