Guernsey retailers urged to take part in survey

Retailers in Guernsey are being encouraged to take part in a survey which aims to highlight the challenges and opportunities that local businesses face.

The Guernsey Retail Group (GRG) said its survey will allow it to "represent the sector effectively" to the States.

GRG is asking business owners for their opinions on a range of issues including the proposed introduction of a Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Malcolm Woodhams, GRG director, said retailers were "a significant part of Island life", employing more than 3,500 people and made "a substantial contribution to our community and economy".

The survey follows on from an island-wide questionnaire last year which gathered islanders' opinions on a range of retail-related topics.

Mr Woodhams said the survey was an "opportunity [for retailers] to share and have their voice heard".

The survey is open until Wednesday 17 September.
