Boy, 17, detained over town centre knife threats
Google StreetviewA teenager has been arrested after threats were made to a member of the public with a knife in Uppingham.
Leicestershire Police said armed officers were called to reports of a man carrying a knife in High Street East in the Rutland town at about 09:15 BST on Monday.
Uppingham PC Melissa Stapleton said a 17-year-old boy was detained on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence, and assaulting an officer.
He has been released on bail, she added, and no injuries were reported.
