People on the Isle of Man have been urged to be aware of two road closure periods on as qualifying continues for the 2026 TT races continues.

Roads around the 37-7-mile (60-km) Mountain Course are due to be shut in both the afternoon and evening – with a temporary reopening of the lower part of the course inbetween to allow people living around the course to get home.

The Mountain Road closure comes into force from Barrule Park in Ramsey from 11:15 BST until no later than 21:30.

Lower course closures will be in place from 12:30 until 16:30, and again from 18:00 to no later than 21:30.

The move marks a change to previous years' schedule, which had seen a second closure operate on the same day only on contingency basis, rather than as a planned session.

Wednesday's double session has been designed to allow for Thursday to be used as a rest day for competitors and volunteer marshals around the course.

However, it remains available to race organisers as a contingency session if needed.

The 2026 event has seen two sessions so far cut short due to red flag incidents.

On Monday, plans for the first qualifying session of the event were abandoned after a competitor crashed into a crowd of spectators, injuring eight, during the opening untimed practice session.

Tuesday evening's qualifying was also red flagged due to an incident at Brandish during the sidecar session, which saw driver Maria Costello and passenger Shaun Parker taken to Noble's Hospital for treatment.
