Crowds flock to park for annual Balloon Fiesta

Thousands of people have gathered for an annual three-day hot air balloon festival.

Telford Balloon Fiesta, held at the Town Park, in Shropshire, returned on Friday along with its popular night glow spectacular.

Scheduled balloon flights are weather dependent, but organisers promised it would be a fantastic weekend with a whole host of activities for all members of the family.

The weekend features a parachute team flying show, a children's zone with performers and live music on the main stage.

Councillor Angela McClements said spectators would enjoy balloon displays including Rupert the Bear and Thomas the Tank Engine.

"Telford Balloon Fiesta is an absolute highlight in our event calendar and it is fantastic to see friends and family getting together to enjoy all that the event offers."

A community carnival parade will start at noon on Sunday from Southwater with more than than 30 groups with costumes taking part.

The event will end on Sunday at 19:00 BST
