A bar and a van have been severely damaged after a late-night fire in a seaside town.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the business on Orwell Road, Clacton-on-Sea, at 23:53 BST on Monday.

When crews from Clacton, Colchester, Frinton and Weeley arrived a van parked outside the property was "also alight", and the firefighters then worked to make the area safe, the service said.

An investigation is due to take place to discover the fire's cause, it added.
