A fire spread to a garden and bungalow after starting in a bee smoker - used by beekeepers to calm their insects, a fire service said.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said one man suffered smoke inhalation and burns to his left hand following the incident.

The fire began in the bee smoker before spreading to the back of the bungalow in the village of Hundon, near Haverhill, on Thursday afternoon.

Crews from Clare, Haverhill and Long Meldford attended the fire and were giving medical attention to the man until the ambulance arrived.
