Pedestrian dies after being hit by tractor

The man died in hospital after the crash in Stoke-on-Trent, police said

A pedestrian has died after he was hit by a tractor in Stoke-on-Trent.

The crash happened on Shelton New Road in the Cliff Vale area of the city, shortly after 08:20 BST on Wednesday.

The man who was hit by the vehicle was taken to hospital but died a short time later, Staffordshire Police said.

His next of kin were told of his death and a force spokesperson said the driver of the tractor remained at the scene of the crash, to help officers with their inquiries.
