Man charged with murder following fatal stabbing

Police investigating a fatal stabbing on a street in Milton Keynes have charged a man with murder.

Thames Valley Police said it received reports of a stabbing in Brooklands Road in Bletchley at about 23:20 BST on Thursday, 30 July.

Mohammed Tanveerul Islam, 26, died of a stab wound to the chest, a post-mortem examination found.

Shaquill Selyer, 27, of nearby Frensham Drive in Bletchley, has been charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon and perverting the course of justice.

Selyer was remanded to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court on Friday following his arrest on Tuesday.

Three people - a boy and two men - who were arrested as part of the investigation have been released with no further action.

Det Sup Andrew Alexander, of the Milton Keynes Local Command Unit, said: "I understand the concern that this tragic incident has caused in Bletchley and across Milton Keynes.

"Our neighbourhood officers will be in the local area over the coming days and will remain in contact with community representatives and local partners.

"If you have any concerns, please speak with a uniformed officer."
