3,000 tonnes of straw on fire near Boston

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service advised people to keep doors and windows closed

Firefighters are battling a blaze near Boston where about 3,000 tonnes of straw is on fire.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said six fire engines were attending the incident off Marsh Lane in Algakirk on Sunday evening.

Lincolnshire Police said a 0.6 mile (1km) cordon was in place, and some local roads had been closed.

Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to plumes of smoke, and to avoid smoke inhalation.
