Carl Copus pleaded guilty to the murder of Ian Jackson-Wynch, who was found dead in Grantham

A man has pleaded guilty to murdering a man who was found dead at a property in Grantham.

Carl Copus, 55, pleaded guilty during a crown court hearing in Loughborough. He was one of three men who were due to go on trial for the murder of Ian Jackson-Wynch.

Jackson-Wynch, 55, was found with serious injuries at a property on Greyfriars in the town on 26 January. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men, Billy Mitchell, 43, of no fixed address, and Sean Page, 36, of Tamar Court, Grantham, had pleaded not guilty to murder.

Following the guilty plea, Katherine Goddard KC, prosecuting, said no evidence would be offered against Mitchell and Page, who were due to stand trial alongside Copus for murder.

Judge James House KC proceeded to enter not guilty verdicts against both Mitchell and Page on the murder charge.

Copus was remanded into custody and will be sentenced on a date to be fixed.
