Man who raped teen girl in park jailed for 12 years
Thames Valley PoliceA man who raped a teenage girl in a park has been jailed for 12-and-a-half years.
Travis Moore, 37, of Great West Road, Hounslow, was convicted of one count of rape by a unanimous jury verdict following a five-day trial at Reading Crown Court.
Moore raped a teenage girl between 23:30 BST on 1 November and 01:00 on 2 November 2025 in Baylis Park, Slough.
He was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday to 12 years and six months' imprisonment. He will serve nine years and six months in custody, with the remainder to be served on licence.
Thames Valley Police said it received a report from a teenage girl that she had been raped in the park by an unknown man.
Officers attended immediately and located Moore nearby.
He was arrested on 2 November, charged the following day and remanded into custody.
Investigating officer Det Con Laura Bevan said: "Firstly, I would like to pay tribute to the victim in this case.
"Throughout the investigation and court process she showed immense courage, dignity and patience.
"Coming forward to report such a traumatic offence and then supporting a criminal investigation and trial takes considerable strength.
"Thanks to her bravery, a dangerous offender has been brought to justice and can no longer pose a risk to other women and girls."
She added: "I hope this sentence reassures victims that they will be listened to, treated with respect and supported throughout the criminal justice process.
"We will always seek to bring to justice those who commit offences of this nature."
