Senior Nottinghamshire Police officer suspended
BBCA serving senior Nottinghamshire Police officer has been suspended after being served with a gross misconduct notice in relation to a criminal matter.
The force told the BBC on Thursday that the matter under investigation relates to alleged non-recent inappropriate conduct towards a work colleague while the officer was on duty.
Nottinghamshire Police added it had asked Derbyshire Police's professional standards department to lead the investigation.
Deputy Chief Constable Rob Griffin said: "Suspension should not be interpreted as an indication of guilt. We cannot comment further while the investigation is ongoing."
