Police name Springburn biker who died in early hours road crash

Police have named a biker who died in a road crash in the north of Glasgow.

Steven Carlton, 47, was driving a black Honda CMX 500 motorbike which crashed on Springburn Road at about 04:35 on Tuesday.

Emergences services were called out but Carlton, who was from Springburn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances and have urged anyone with information or dash cam footage to get in touch.

Sgt Chris McColm said: "Given the time of the crash, we know the road wasn't particularly busy, but I'm appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or saw the motorcycle beforehand, to come forward.
