Plumber denies sexually assaulting customers in homes

A plumber accused of hugging, picking up and touching female customers in their homes has denied sexually assaulting them.

Nigel Rowley, 65, of Wordsworth Road in Daybrook, Nottinghamshire, is charged with 12 counts of sexual assault against five different women.

He is accused of hugging, picking up and touching them over and under their clothing while he was working as a plumber and heating engineer in Edwalton and Keyworth between September 2024 and September 2025.

During a seven-minute court hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday, District Judge Sunil Khanna heard Rowley indicates not guilty pleas to the charges against him.

Rowley, who the court heard is no longer working, was told to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 9 October to enter formal pleas.

At the end of the hearing, the district judge granted Rowley bail on the condition he does not contact any of the alleged victims.
