Radio host denies historical rape charge

A Staffordshire radio presenter accused of raping a woman has denied the allegation.

Stuart Haycock, from Stafford, appeared at the town's crown court on Tuesday where he pleaded not guilty to intentional penetration without consent.

The charge relates to an alleged offence in Stafford between 24 November 2015 and 1 September 2017.

Haycock's lawyer said the defendant had "no sexual contact whatsoever" with his accuser.

The 48-year-old, who has worked on a number of commercial and community stations, was released on bail until a trial at the same court on 30 May 2028.

That is expected to last seven days.
