Community pay tribute to teen after murder investigation launched
BBCThe streets of Gorseinon filled with the roar of engines on Sunday as dozens of people on motorbikes, cars and pedal bikes came together in memory of a teenager whose death is at the centre of a murder inquiry.
Ceiran Evans, 18, died following a crash between a car and an off-road bike in the Gorseinon area of Swansea earlier this month, with an 18-year-old charged with his murder.
His family asked people to come together for the ride-out event to "remember his life" and celebrate Ceiran's "passion for bike and vehicles".
His aunt said the family were "overwhelmed" by the turnout and support as about 100 vehicles did a loop of Gorseinon, passing Ceiran's house and the spot where he was killed.
Engines were revved and the smell of petrol and smoke filled the air for the ride-out event on Sunday morning.
Balloons and banners showed a younger him on a bike and a more recent photo in tribute to 'Fatboy', a nickname from his childhood used by many of his friends.
Just a couple of streets away, where the fatal crash happened, a growing number of flowers and balloons have been left, with people writing messages including some that said "forever 18" and "fly High".
Ceiran's aunt Becky Arnold-Jones said the family wanted to organised the event so the community could get together.
"We know it's affected the whole of Gorseinon, not just us as a family," she said.
"And we are overwhelmed with everyone who made the effort to come ."
She said her nephew had "loved bikes since he was tiny".
"He just loved life and he was a good boy," she added.
18 year-old Tyler Ford has been charged with murder and attempted murder and is due to stand trial in January.
