Police appeal after man dies following crash

A man has died following a crash on the B7020 road near Lochmaben in Dumfries and Galloway.

The incident involving a white Ford Transit van happened about 10:20 on Sunday near Kinnel Hook.

Emergency services attended and the driver, a 66-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware.

The road was closed for crash investigation work and re-opened about 16:30.

Police Scotland's Sgt Lindsey Tait said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and they have asked for privacy at this time.

"Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch."
